Rommel Homes is registered with the Homeowner Protection Office and its service and warranty program meets or exceeds all mandated requirements.

Every Rommel Home is protected by the 2-5-10 National Home Warranty Program. This warranty includes a 2 year warranty against defects in the major systems in your home, the exterior cladding and the Building Code , a 5 year warranty against building envelope defects, and a 10 year warranty against structural defects.

Keeping your new home in top shape is an easy task, as long as you follow a regular maintenance schedule. Here are a few tips to get you started:

  • Always keep your gutters clean and free of debris. This will help to keep water from building up and eliminate water damage to your home. It will also keep your downspouts working properly, all the way down to your drainage.
  • Check the caulking in your bathroom shower and tubs on a regular basis and replace if necessary. Caulking is there to protect the moisture from getting behind your tub, shower and tiles.
  • Make regular visits to your attic and/or crawl space to ensure there is no moisture build up or leaks in either of these areas. Early detection can save money in the long run.
  • Never use a pressure washer on the roof or exterior of your home. This will slowly decrease the effectiveness of these materials.
  • When leaving on vacation during the winter make sure that the temperature in your home never goes below 15 degrees C. Also turn off exterior hose bibs, and in the case of frost-free hose bibs, remove all hoses from bib.
